Brief summary of the organization (business card)
The Center “Education for Democracy” is a non-governmental organization for public benefit, which contributes to the development of democratic citizenship and the promotion of democratic ideas and values through training, consultations, exchange of information and experience of municipalities in Bulgaria, civil society structures, state institutions, business, media and citizens. The Centre is a representative of the international initiative “Europe Direct” in Plovdiv and the region, a member of the EUROPE DIRECT network in Bulgaria, which in turn is part of a group of EUROPE DIRECT centres located throughout Europe. Thanks to these centres, citizens have access to Europe and can participate in debates on the future of the EU.

Training
We take an interactive approach to training that allows us to respond to your needs and interests. Each workshop provides an opportunity to bring ideas and skills together through a combination of exercises, small group work, demonstrations and lectures. The teaching method and variety of methods are tailored to the individual learning style of the participants.

Projects
Center “Education for Democracy” has implemented over 300 projects in 20 years. Since the beginning of April – 2018. Education for Democracy Centre launches a new project “2018 – European Year of Cultural Heritage”. The project will include a series of public lectures on the European Year of Cultural Heritage, a scientific conference for undergraduate and postgraduate students on the same topic and the production of electronic products promoting the anniversary. The partners of the organization are the Faculties of Economic and Social Sciences and History and Philosophy at Plovdiv University, the Student Council and the Political Science Club at the same institution. The project is co-financed by the Municipality of Plovdiv and is in support of Plovdiv – European Capital of Culture. News on the events coming soon!
Since July 2018, we have continued our contract with the Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria for a reception structure in Plovdiv and the region and as part of the European Information Network “Europe Direct”.
