In 2002 the University of Medical Sciences became the Medical University – Plovdiv.
In 2003, the Pharmacy Faculty started with initially 30 students.
In 2005, the Faculty of Pharmacy became a basic unit after positive accreditation.
In 2003 the Department of Health Care was established and in 2009 the Faculty of Public Health “prof. In 2009 and 2009 the Faculty of Public Health was established.
Since 1945, the construction of material facilities of MU and University Hospital “St. In 1945, the Medical University of St. George was founded.
In the period 1967-1969 a rest station was built on Tsigov Chark, and in 1998 – a base on the South Black Sea coast.
In 1968 the construction of a new Surgical Block began, completed in 1988.
The University has three halls of residence and a new Auditorium Complex, distinguished in 2011.
MU – Plovdiv trains over 16 000 doctors and has 721 scientific and teaching staff.
In 2011 Prof. Dr. Stefan Kostyanev became Rector with the motto “Quality and Academism”.
