Successfully conducted consultancy events on the topic “European digital innovation days in auditing”

On February 21-23, 2025, the Landmark Creek Hotel in Plovdiv hosted the consulting events “European Digital Innovation Days in Auditing” organized by the European Digital Innovation Hub “Trakia” (EDIH Trakia), in cooperation with Technical Training Bulgaria EOOD and CI Bulgaria OOD. Leading experts, certified auditors, and business representatives attended to discuss current trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in the field of digitization and technological innovations related to auditing.

Key points from the seminar

The seminar covered a variety of topics related to accreditation requirements, new certification opportunities, and improving external audit processes. Among the main highlights were:

  • Development of accreditation processes and feedback from audits – leading experts analyzed the challenges and opportunities for improvement in audit management.
  • Upcoming EU-funded project initiatives – new opportunities for digitization, technological modernization, and training programs were presented.
  • Cybersecurity and information security – emphasis on certified training in this area, led by experts such as Yasen Tanev and Radoslava Dakovska.

Lectures on NIS2 and DORA

One of the highlights of the event was the participation of Sasha Boncheva, coordinator of Women4Cyber Bulgaria, who gave a lecture on NIS2 – the key European directive on network and information security. Her presentation covered the new regulatory requirements, the obligations of organizations, and best practices for ensuring cyber resilience.

Miroslav Mitev also participated with a specialized lecture dedicated to the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), which introduces enhanced requirements for digital operational resilience in the financial sector. Participants received practical guidance on implementing regulatory requirements and managing related risks.

Specialized training sessions

Participants had the opportunity to take part in practical modules divided according to audit areas:

  • For ISO 27001 and ISO 20000-1 auditors – review of specific sector requirements and their integration with the DORA Regulation and the NIS2 Directive.
  • For ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000 auditors – best practices for reporting results and optimizing processes.
