EDIH Trakia affirms its leading role in the development of innovation and digital transformation in Bulgaria through participation and coordination of a number of strategic meetings and initiatives within the European Digital Decade.
On October 7, representatives of EDIH Trakia took part in the meeting of the Public Council to the Ministry of Electronic Governance, dedicated to the topic “Digital Decade,” with the participation of Ms. Eline Chivot, head of the Bulgarian mission to the European Digital Decade. During the discussion, key points from the report on the state of the Digital Decade 2025 were discussed, including:
- the need for accelerated improvement of digital skills among citizens and the workforce;
- the integration of artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, and data into business and public services;
- strengthening cybersecurity and personal data protection;
- support for small and medium-sized enterprises through incentives for digital transformation;
- building connected and sustainable infrastructure with widespread 5G coverage and high-speed internet.
On October 8, EDIH Trakia took over the organization and coordination of a series of working meetings, including:
- Sofia Municipality – exchange of experience in smart city management and digital public services;
- National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria – meeting with the Chair of the Electronic Governance and IT Committee on the legislative framework for digitization and innovation;
- Sofia Tech Park – visits to the board, the Discoverer supercomputer, and the incubator for high-tech companies;
- meetings with the Institute for Artificial Intelligence and the Artificial Intelligence Cluster, aimed at strengthening partnerships between science, industry, and the public sector.
On October 9, EDIH Trakia supported the opening of the new European hub for digital transformation –
UDIH 4EU (Utility Digital Innovation Hub for Europe). The project aims to accelerate digital transformation in key public sectors such as energy, water supply, waste management, and urban infrastructure by introducing innovative technologies and creating a sustainable ecosystem for innovation.
These initiatives confirm EDIH Trakia’s active position as a regional driver of digital transformation, combining strategic thinking, innovative potential, and cooperation on a national and European scale.
